Introduction to plasma spraying technology

Plasma spraying is a thermal spraying method based on plasma arc as heat source and powder material.

Steps of plasma spraying

During plasma spraying, a continuous flow arc is generated between the cathode and the anode (nozzle), which heats and ionizes the imported working gas into a high-temperature plasma and ejects it from the nozzle to form a plasma flame. The powder is fed into the flame by the powder gas, which is melted, accelerated, and sprayed onto the base material to form a coating. The working gas can be argon, nitrogen, or hydrogen added from these gases, or a mixture of argon and helium.

Characteristics of plasma spraying

(1) It can spray a variety of spraying materials, especially refractory materials with high melting point, such as refractory metals, ceramics, cermet and other special functional materials;

(2) Inert gas can be selected as the working medium to reduce the oxidation reaction of spray particles during flight;

(3) The coating has high bonding strength and low porosity; The fine coating can be prepared by controlling the process parameters.

The SG100 can be used at the same time to achieve higher spray speeds and to mix different materials in equal ion beams. The external feed mouth can replace the internal feed mouth, and the internal and external feed mouth can also be used in combination.

We can offer customer SG100 spray gun, using argon or nitrogen as main gas, hydrogen as secondary gas. The working current of spray gun: 100-800A. The working voltage: Ar+H2: 50-75V, N2+H2: 50-80V.
